United Nations secretary general Ban Ki-moon and World Bank Groups president Jim Yong Kim have begun their horn of Africa tour in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The two leaders emphasised the need for the region to experience sustainable economic growth through adoption of good policies. The World Bank pledged 8 billion dollars for development activities in the region. The funds will benefit infrastructure, health, energy and education projects in Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Kenya and Uganda.
