University of Aberdeen marine scientists have sent an unmanned sub to a depth of 8,000 m in Mariana Trench (Pacific). Plenty of marine life even at that amazing depth. Truly life will colonise all ecological niches. From high alpine peaks (I have seen butterflies at c3,000 m on a col in Dolomites) to oceanic hot-vents and deep marine trenches and all zones in-between. https://youtube/watch?v=6N4xmNGeCVU
