Unless you worked as a cop or military many people just dont understand how hard it it to apprehend a suspect successfully. Regardless of how much training you had, when it comes to a real life and death situation in apprehending a fleeing suspect, or trying to handcuff him or her, one just doesnt know what a law enforcement officer has to go through. When I worked as a police officer I didnt need assistance when taking down a suspect. When I tackled someone I took the fight out of him or he was badly hurt. Applying handcuffs on a subject was easy. Fighting with a combative suspect or inmate was never a problem. It was for them. So when you see 4 or 5 officers trying to take down or Handcuff a suspect, dont look at it as abuse or say, why did it have to take 4 cops to take that guy down? It is a matter of control to protect the officers and suspects.
