Unmanageable Traffic volume causing congestion and pollution in Delhi, Mumbai, Colcutta and Chennai: What to do ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- On an average,car now takes 7 minutes to do 1 KM in peak hours ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Your active participation here is requested. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delhi has hit the headlines in the world news and not for a good reason. It has left Beijing behind in the race to become the top pulluted city of the world. Other mega cities are not far behind in the race. it will not be long before India will become the top polluted country of the world. NO matter Metro has done a good job but the unprecedented and unorganised expansion of the cities along with a phenomenon rise in the population of the cities has undone the good effect of the Metro trains. With successive Government decisions or the lack of them only adding to the existing chaos and Governments not taking any interest in tackling the problem including Kejriwalji, We have started a discussion among our think tank members to find the ready to launch solutions to the problem. We shall compile a policy paper on the matter and offer it to the state Governments to take action.
