Until a few years ago, I struggled with acne. It was very embarrassing and uncomfortable. I tried everything in my early years from Proactive to Prescription meds and nothing worked. By the time I had tried a laundry list of different things proven to heal acne, my skin was at its all time worst. I have very oily skin and tried everything that was recommended for my skin type, all it seemed to do was make my skin red and irritated, my break outs worse and of course so oily I couldnt make it half way through the morning w/o having that dreadful visible oily sheen a lot of you can relate to. Ugh! I felt very defeated, my confidence was at its worst and I just didnt know where to turn. I felt trapped! One day it finally dawned on me, the only thing I hadnt tried was going natural. Why I didnt think of this sooner I will never know. I could have saved so much heartache not to mention money on unnecessary products and dermatology visits. After some experimenting I finally figured it out! I have actually received compliments on my skin in the past few years!!! This is unbelievable for me. On top of it all it is the simplest thing maintain, keeping the ingredients on hand ensure you will never run out and it only takes about 5 minutes to whip something up... not to mention it is cheap! I no longer have to buy body wash, face wash or other moisturizer or skin care products not to mention I also use my salt scrub and coconut oil for the rest of my skin! My skin has never felt better and Im no longer exposing it to all those toxins!!! My skin care routine: Salt Scrub 2 cups Epsom salt 3/4 cups extra virgin olive oil 15-20 drops essential oil I use doTERRA Melaleuca or lavender for spot treatment if needed Makeup : Bare Minerals - I use only the powder, no primer or liquids Moisturizer: Extra Virgin, Unrefined Coconut Oil Thats It! So simple! The Epsom Salt helps soothe and heal the acne and the coconut oil is antibacterial and aids as well! I have applied coconut oil to razor burn only to have it disappear the next morning and I no longer get itchy in the winter!! I know it seems crazy that oil on oily skin works, but when your skin isnt balanced and you are consistently drying it out, it only tries to compensate and produce more oil to fight for balance. Sometimes we just get in our own way dont we ?!?!?
