...Unto one of the least of these, ye have done it unto me. We got locked out of our apartment last night, when we went out to see the candles at the cemetery. When we retuned at 9:15, we called the 24 hour security number, and requested help getting in. But it was Christmas Eve, and it took 1.5 hours for the guard to arrive. But none of the keys worked so he had to go get some others. When he returned at 11:45, none of those keys worked either. We were desperate, so we tried, with no success, to break in. Couldnt get to the windows because we were on the 5th floor, with no elevator, BTW. After trying everything we knew of, we called the Mission President at 12:30, Mariah tearfully called, and she asked if there was something he could do. He came and picked us up and took us to his home, so we didnt have to sleep in the stairway. Our phones died after all the calls and texts trying to find help. President Watson was so kind to come and pick us up, and Sister Watson was an angel to make up beds for us at 1:30 in the morning. We were safe and snug. But I couldnt sleep. After a fitful night, I got up at 6, and started calling the emergency number for the apartment, and texting every half hour. I felt like such an imposition, but President and Sister Watson never felt that way. They took us in, fed us, and we had a lovely visit. We finally heard from the apartment people and got back in at about noon. It turned out to be a lovely Christmas morning, spent with two of the most Christlike people Ive met. It never would have happened if I had not been so foolish, and I never would have tried to have it that way, but it turned out wonderfully. A memorable Christmas story, from one who has felt Christs love from His servants when we were in a most desperate need.
