She explained on how quality of life will deteriorate if one cannot get used to life after retirement. NHG organised a retirement planning talk at TTSH earlier in January, and will hold a second edition of the talk this coming July. Dr Chan explained the reasons behind why taxi drivers find it difficult to retire as retirement is a complicated social issue. If seniors cannot get used to life after retirement, their quality of life will deteriorate, physical fitness will falter and some elderly may even develop symptoms of depression.
