Up to half of hypothyroidism is caused by wheat consumption; stopping the wheat may not allow your thyroid function to fully recover. There are TWO thyroid hormones; most people who take thyroid hormone take only ONE: T4 (levothyroxine). We also live in an age of endocrine disruption from industrial chemicals, such as perfluorooctanoic acid from Teflon, polybrominated diphenyl ethers in flame retardants, triclosan in hand sanitizers and anti-bacterial soap that have potential to block the conversion of T4 to T3. Then why do you only take T4?
