Update - passenger David Moss tells us Under control at 50% speed. Life jackets are off. Anacortes in sight... the staff here handled the situation very professionally and kept anxiety levels down, I think everyone is happy. Washington State Ferries confirms there is a mechanical issue on the ferry Elwha from Friday Harbor to Anacortes. As a precaution, passengers were asked to wear life vests. Electricians are in route. All evening trips on the Elwha are cancelled until the mechanical problem can be assessed.
