Update 4: been patrolling north to south islands in some heavy currents and waters yesterday and today with rain, 30 knot winds and sunshine all in the same day....and have seen some magnificent scenery. Stunning nature! NO GRINDS. No one wants to feel threatened on their home turf, but at the same time no one is open to dialogue either. Its a frustrating situation here. They believe in conservation, yet cannot release personal pride and tradition. Its complicated, so the differences in opinions continue. We have had some strange incidents at night including speeding Cars doing doughnuts in the gravel, squealing wheels, the Police showing up at 0300 in the morning, random cars taking pictures in the middle of the night ..... Anyhow, we continue our mission, and thats to drive as many Cetaceans away from the islands to avoid any bloodshed. By the way, still no consistent winds for kiting due to weather. I did see some potential beach break surf though, so I start to know the potential surf and sup spots. Conditions change within minutes here, making sports and recreation quite limited. However, its an ECO TOURISM goldmine, yet I am not sure the Faroese want any of this. I get the feeling they want to be left alone. Ironic when its impossible to remain sustainable when their own industries are having a hard time, the cost of petroleum is too high, and the island relies on imports from the EU. Tomorrow is a new day, have my watch tonight, and tomorrow less wind so we are on standby earlier than normal. Our land team are on the job starting at sunrise! Big blessings to everyone at home!
