Update: 8/7, 10:00 p.m.: One month to the day, we moved to PICRU!!! The room is warmer, more homey, and quieter. Leaving the ICU and the amazing friends we have made there was bitter-sweet. These people saved Butchs life. They cried with me when he was so sick. They rejoiced with me when he improved. They took care of me as much as they took care of him - checked on my eating and resting, covered me with warm blankets when I slept, etc. They cried with me when my mom died. They are the most caring, professional, personable staff - and they are now family. They made us feel loved. Butch has his work cut out for him. He will work harder than he has had to in years. It is very possible that he will walk out of this unit to go straight home. That is the new prayer request..... Tomorrow is Jennifers 29th birthday. I know that this year her Grandma Marilyn will sing Happy Birthday to her in person for the first time in 10 years. I love to think about this.
