Update: Went to the surgeon today for my follow up visit. I go to see my oncologist tomorrow and will know more, but heres what I found out today. Good News: they removed the tumor from my breast and tested the margins around the tissue and definitely got all the cancer out of the breast. Bad news: they had removed all of the axillary lymph nodes, 17 in all, & all of them tested positive for cancer. Will find out tomorrow, but this probably puts me at a stage 3 Breast cancer, and definitely means I have to have aggressive chemo and radiation not only to my breast but also to my underarm. I am happy no more surgery will be required on my breast, but I am sad and scared to know that all of the axillary lymph nodes were infected with the cancer. This is all I know that is new, will know A LOT more tomorrow after seeing my oncologist. The surgeon said I have a long road ahead of me, but I will be fine. And you know what? Of course Ill be fine. I am strong and I am a Survivor. I will fight this just like I would have fought anything else, will my damnest might and the toughest fight ever! And I do have the support of my friends and family and God on my side, so with all that said, I cant possibly lose. :-)
