Update from my boy: This was a pretty good week. On Friday we - TopicsExpress

Update from my boy: This was a pretty good week. On Friday we had a conference with our President in our stake center with three other zones, both of the zones from Trelew and the ones from Madryn. It was really good, and good to see some missionaries that I havent seen in a while. There are big changes coming in the mission. One is that we are going down to two key indicators. We will report baptisms and general church assistance and that is it. They read us D&C 58:26 and 27 and talked about how we have to do things from our own free will. They wont be monitoring our numbers of lessons and investigators and everything, they just want to know that we are baptizing and that church assistance is increasing. They told us we know what we need to do and just need to do it. This will keep us more focused in bringing people unto the waters of baptisms, and we will always think, is this helping people come unto Christ?, not does this count as a lesson or a new investigator? I think it will be really good. For lunch on Friday the zone leaders got together and planned a wonderful meal. We had some members come and roast 4 lambs outside the church and then we all had lamb for lunch. It was pretty good, though very fatty. It wasnt like out of this world but it was good meat. The chimichurri sauce they use is very good though. We had a giant meal with all the missionaries. We also read the scriptures of Christs birth and sang hymns in honor of Christmas. They gave us each bon-a-bon chocolate bars as a present. I threw in pictures of the lambs roasting. The choir activity I mentioned last week is now on youtube. Its called Encuentro Coral Navideño 2014 (estaca trelew norte) if anybody wants to watch it. I hope I spelled that right. The missionaries sing in the middle but I´m not shown because I am on the piano, but my name comes up on the screen as the pianist. The stake choir is almost entirely my ward and the guy conducting it is our ward mission leader and it is in our building. [If anyone wants to watch it, the missionaries come up at 14:40 and Chads name is listed - I got to listen to my boy play the piano!]. The weather has been really weird this weekend. Clouds rolled in and it got cool and then rain poured yesterday and we got soaked. We had to pull out our winter boots and our rain jackets and everything. It got super cold this weekend and we didnt have the heaters on because it had been so hot and so we woke up this morning and the pench (short for pension - or apartment) was 64 degrees. We are back in sweaters and long sleeve shirts. The weather here is crazy. I did my studies this morning in my winter coat. It looks like we might have a cold Christmas after all. I cut my hair this week after I said I would never do it myself again. I cut it too short on the sides so had to cut it shorter on top and now I look like Justin. I also didnt blend it very well on the sides. It was way too long before I cut it and now it is too short. At least it will be nice and cool for the summer. You can see it in the picture of me eating the biscuits and gravy that my comp made on Sunday. He is a good cook. I love you all and cant wait to talk to you on Thursday! I know that this church is true and that I am here doing the Savior´s work! - Elder Applegate - with Vance Applegate
