Update on Aunt Gail 8/7/14 - Aunt Gail got out of MD Anderson Hospital today. She was supposed to have a chemo treatment this afternoon, but they couldnt give it to her because all her numbers were too low. They gave her a shot to try to get her levels up and she will get another one tomorrow. She talked to her oncologist and he is going to let her come home to get her chemo. She has a kidney infection and they are going to give her IV antibiotics at home for that. Because of her dehydration, they are increasing the fluid in her TPN. The doctors said since she already had the kidney infection and her immune system is so low she cant chance getting anything else now. Regretfully we ask that she NOT have any visitors until she gets her immune system built back up. She and all of us are very disappointed that she didnt get chemo today - that is just another set back. Please pray she can get stronger so she can get the chemo she needs for this cancer.
