Update on Calvin: We received the call yesterday morning that Calvin has epilepsy. It is not caused by his medications unfortunately. Its been there since birth just waiting to rear its ugly head. He will be admitted for a 24 hour EEG to see the extent of his seizures. His neurologist is concerned he is experiencing generalized seizures while asleep. He experiences focal and partial complex during his awake times. We will await those results prior to proceeding with medication. Overall Calvin is doing well. He has begun to feel pretty ill each day though. We are continuing with the plan to pull him off of his chemo medication (used to combat the arthritis). His dose has been lowered for now. He maintains his positive attitude but cannot wrap his head around what all of this means for him or for his future. So we will have lots of talks over the next few weeks just as we did about his arthritis. Thank you to all for your kind words of support and prayers. We appreciate them more than we can ever show all of yall. I had a friend describe what I know I am feeling at this moment, grief. We will make it through this bump in the road but for now I cry and grieve for his lost innocence and normal child hood.
