Update on Dad: I probably should have mentioned last night for those who arent aware - Dad had a stroke from Diabetes several years ago and has been in very poor health since. Thus, anything which may be a serious thing for others can be very critical for him. Dad is in the intermediate care ward at Matthews Presbyterian (currently room 518). He will be having a test today with an internal camera to determine the source of the bleeding. Strong suspicion is that it is a bleeding ulcer. He has had to have three units of blood. I have not had detailed information about someone being given blood before, but this seems like a lot to me. Does anyone know if that is a larger than normal amount? He hasnt been allowed to eat (obviously) and this has resulted in insulin drop. Hopefully they are on top of that and put something in his IV for it. I was not too pleased last night when nurses spent several hours messing around with this and that on him, then promised they were done and he could rest now, at 10:00 p.m., and not more than 5 minutes later (AFTER 10!) some person comes in to do a kidney ultrasound test. Why so late?? Pray for Mom, too. She stayed at the hospital last night. Mom is like that. No amount of arguing with her will do any good.
