Update on Sam: I spent the afternoon at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia with our Lower School principal and two preschool teachers. We brought get well cards and drawings and a huge banner with lots and lots of hand prints on it spelling out the words 4 SAM. Sams parents were overwhelmed by the kindness shown by each child who contributed to these gifts. We were able to spend some time with Sam and Sams parents. I was able to hold his little hand for a few minutes - which were very emotional and prayer-filled moments for me. Sam is heavily sedated and breathing on his own. His head is wrapped in a turban-like bandage, and our prayer is that the cerebral swelling will go down substantially and quickly. Thus far, the swelling has not diminished, and if the swelling continues he is in danger of more brain injury. The parents are extremely grateful for the praying that is happening literally around the world. The only continent not represented through prayers is Antarctica!
