Update on Todd Childers, Ashleys dad. Todd continues to slowly show more improvement. He still has the trach, he still has joints that are healing, and his vocal chords are still paralyzed. He has been discharged out of the MICU and remains at UIHC. It has been 3 weeks since he went to the ER in Davenport and many battles were fought. His sister was able to give him ice chips today and he was able to sit on the side of the bed too! The doctors reported that he did have a heart attack but could not determine when this had happened and they plan to treat with medicines. Faith and hope and prayers continue to prevail! The Almighty Physician is at work and the care teams are working their best on him. Ashley shared the song she wrote for him and it was breath taking! He has been able to communicate and he and his family our thankful for all your prayers. Please continue to pray for his infections to be gone and complete healing, the heart medicines to work, his vocal cords to be restored, and for him to gain physical, emotional and spiritual strength to continue to work at recovery. Also prayers are needed for safety on the roads for friends and family. It seems that the road remains long for him, please pray for the Lord to shorten that time if it be His Will! 1 Chronicles 29:13 - Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.
