Update on my Squeeze: Today is 2 months since Paul was discharged from the hospital and this week we are visiting his surgeon for his second follow up. We had a busy holiday season, and he held up well. Parties, visitors, lavish attention from the daughters, etc.. We were both careful to keep our eyes on his reactions to it all, and I think we did well. He still has significant healing and stamina building to look forward to, but the best thing about that is that he IS looking forward to it! It has been a very long time since he has felt like expending much of any kind of energy (though he did plow through as best as he could, because he....well, hes Paul). Hes regaining more and more of his Paul-ness everyday, and it is so bloomin awesome for those of us who know and love him. He had checked out for longer than any of us had fully realized, so having him back is...beyond words. The sterling generosity of our family and friends will forever warm our hearts. It is hard to imagine what we might be doing this very moment without the unequivocal support that was offered. Trust us when we say we will be paying it forward like never before, understanding more than ever that gifts and giving are not defined any one way.
