Update on my mother: a recent test came back with a negative HER-2 result, so the treatment for her cancer will remained unchanged in the foreseeable future. Good news! She currently takes anastrozole tablets each night (with a prayer for God to use them to kill cancer cells and to keep them from doing too much harm to the rest of her), goes in every four weeks for two extended IV injections (to strengthen her bones), and sees the doctor about once every six weeks to evaluate the progress made in subduing the cancer cell growth and to ensure that no alterations are needed in her treatment plan. She currently reports these daily symptoms: a fair amount of fatigue, some middle-sized pain in about fifteen places (mostly bone pain), and her spiritual battle with anxiety off and on. A new pain medicine was also prescribed recently. Mom continues to move forward with her travel plans for the summer. This is great news for the whole family, and mom is in good spirits. Please also pray for my little brother Luke who arrived in Nicaragua today to join my sister (along with a team of several other young people) at the Casa Bernabe orphanage in Puerto Cabezas.
