Update on my sweet sister, Dawn Pfaff: Dawn has been off the vent for two days now and breath sounds and vital signs are within normal limits. She is still in CICU. Still not speaking, except for a couple of words. She does smile and nod her head appropriately. Not following all commands yet, but some. They say she is very weak, and still coming out of all the sedation. They also think she is having some ICU psychosis and is confused because she doesnt remember even coming to the hospital, and she is waking up to all the noises of machines beeping. We just keeping orienting her to what happened and telling her we are taking care of everything. She is having some panic attacks occasionally but we are able to calm her down by talking to her and telling her to take slow, deep breaths, which she is able to do. She will probably have to go to rehab after the hospital. They are starting physical therapy tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for her and her family, as well as all the medical professionals who are caring for her.
