Update on our Sandy girl... We brought her in to after hours - TopicsExpress

Update on our Sandy girl... We brought her in to after hours care tonight because she was having some major swelling in her paw. We wanted to make sure it was not infected. Turns out it is just swollen from the severity of the fracture and we will have to ice it and massage it for her, along with hydrotherapy. Her results came back from her biopsy and the blood count looks good, but it is for sure a sarcoma. It is hard to tell what type because of all the damaged tissue. We will need to go back for more x-rays and if there are no masses found on any of her organs, then we will be going through with the amputation. This will give her 3-6 more months. Without chemotherapy, an amputation alone statistically is only about a 2% survival rate. But we are still hopeful! Most importantly, we want her last months of life to be happy and pain free. We will do all that we can to give her a fighting chance!
