Update on this tragic story. According to the womans father-in-law -‘I brought my son up around guns, and he has extensive experience shooting it. And Veronica had had handgun classes. They’re both licensed to carry, and this wasnt just some purse she had thrown her gun into. My initial thoughts were that she just had the gun in a regular purse without a proper holster, but it appears this was a specially designed purse. Im not trying to bash the victim, by all accounts she was a great person, but I still question how a 2 yo was able to unzip the compartment and actuate the trigger without his mother noticing. I have to believe it was not on her shoulder as it was designed, because she would have had to feel all of that movement, no? If she left it in the cart, that was the fatal mistake- well actually in my mind the fatal mistake was NOT having it ON her person. As you can tell Im not a big fan off the body carry.
