Update on tonights car accident on Avalon Blvd from the Middle Township Police Department: On April 22, 2014, at approximately 4:50 pm, the Middle Township Police Department responded to Avalon Boulevard for a report of a two (2) car motor vehicle crash. A silver minivan traveling East on Avalon Boulevard crossed the center line and struck a Green Jeep Wrangler, driven by Addison Jones (age 61 of Langhorne, PA ). Jones was airlifted to Atlantic Care Medical Center City Division. The driver of the silver minivan (age 51) was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification to his family. Cape May Court House and Avalon Fire Departments assisted with the scene. Avalon Boulevard was reopened to traffic at approximately 2000 hours. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
