Update over Cookie, het katje met de gebroken kaak en gebroken pootje: COOKIE: Apologies for the delay in update on our lovely Cookie. Yesterday he had a successful operation on his jaw.The jaw has been repaired though he has some tongue damage but surgeon is pleased so far. His paw/leg actually has no visible physical damage on scans/xrays. Surgeon believes this is neurological/nerve damage from the knock and with rest the nerves may regenerate and gain some use, sometimes amazing recoveries are seen from this state so everyone please cross everything! .As an absolute last resort if no sensation is gained back then he may have to remove the floppy part, to allow him to gain full and safe movement as an active cat, but for now, we are waiting. And we have seen cats live full, long and happy lives post amputation so his options are still very good. He is being given cosiness, rest and pain relief in the trauma surgeons clinic while he recovers from the jaw op and is being monitored and so far in good spirits .We know everyone in the clinic will be falling in love with this lovely boy!. As soon as we have more news we will post more info. Thank you everyone so much for your support to get him this far. xxxxx
