Update time: I have been receiving quite a few messages, so I wanted to go ahead and update everyone all at once. I went in and saw the neurologist this last Thursday. I drilled him with a lot of questions that I had accumulated over the last month. Thankfully he was able to answer all of my questions, as well as give me a path forward as to what his plan is to get control of these Hemiplegic Migraines. The not so good news is that it is going to take time, because to get up to the level of preventative medication that its going to take, will take time in itself. I have more than doubled the dosage since I started. In 2 weeks he is going to bump me up to the next higher dose. Regarding the paralysis, none of the medication has been working. He did give me a new prescription to see if that works. I actually had my first attack in front of Talon yesterday, which in itself was bittersweet. The good news is that within 20 minutes the paralysis started to ease up and eventually go away! Both my physician and my neurologist both agree that I need to be back on short term disability until we start to have a better path forward that is showing positive results. As it stands right now I am still having at least 4 episodes with paralysis a week. I want to thank each and everyone of you for all of your thoughts and prayers. I certainly would not be able to get through all of this without all of your kind words and best wishes. But most of all it is through the grace of God and he alone that is giving me the strength to continue to fight through all of this!
