[PTI Core Committee Meeting Press Statement] PTI Core Committee was given a detailed fact sheet by the Chairman regarding the SehatKaInsaf programme in the wake of a disinformation campaign in the media despite the fact that the programme has been lauded internationally and other provinces are now trying to emulate it. The transparency of the programme was appreciated by the Core Committee. One: It was at the failure of earlier polio programmes that the Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation approached Chairman Khan and requested him to take personal charge of the anti polio drive in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa. Two: The entire funding of the awareness campaign and extra operational expenses are paid for entirely by WHO and UNICEF. Total expenditure on the project is Rs 124 million. Three: the MOU has been signed with the KPK Health Department and the Police and UNICEF does its own audit of all the money involved in the programme. Four: Advertisement is handled by UNICEF directly with the company selected by them. Five: No NGO is involved in this programme. Six: PTI volunteers have been helping the programmes operationalisation. PTIs Core Committee agreed the programme has been a tremendous success and congratulated all those involved in this programme. In other decisions the Core Committee deliberated upon the recent CII recommendations and concluded the following: The Core Committee fully supported the existing Family Law which are in accordance with Islam and there is nothing contrary to Islam in these Law. This Law has stood the test of time and provided protection and security to girls and women. The Core Committee also supported the acceptance of DNA as evidence in cases of rape. Admin: M.N.S.
