Urban Sports Alliance is helping San Francisco kids play baseball. The kids in the program come from diverse neighborhoods, schools, and economic backgrounds. And, like Dante Benedetti, there are no cuts. To combat the lack of practice facilities in the City, Urban Sports Alliance recently acquired some CalTrans property under the 280 freeway in the Dog-patch area of San Francisco and with the financial support of The Dante Benedetti Foundation and others, developing a hitting and pitching facility. This facility has become a place where kids and coaches can go anytime to practice.
