Urgent Information For Those Who Reside In Pakistan And Have Been Affected By Recent Shia Killings! (Please Share My Status) 1. Background The issue of Shia killings has now been discussed before the House of Lords Human Rights Committee. The Committee are now willing to refer the matter to the UN, where our hope is for a declaration by the said body that Shia genocide is going on in Pakistan. The advantage will of course be two fold: (1) Direct pressure on the Pakistani Government to use all resources at its disposal to address this problem (2) A means via which those Shia fleeing persecution can do so, without the obstacle of having to satisfy "safe countries" such as the United Kingdom that they are a persecuted people. 2. The Current Situation The current slant that the UK Government is taking is that what is occurring is Shia Hazara killing, whilst we know the problem is not linked to this ethnic group alone. At present pf the 470 Witness Statements provided to the Committee 400 are from Shia Hazara that is very much influencing their way of thinking. 3. The Challenge If we are to successfully get a declaration from the UN that what is going on in Pakistan is Shia genocide, they will need EVIDENCE to do so. It is therefore essential that the House of Lords Human Rights Committee are provided with Witness Statements from relatives that have lost loved ones on account of their being Shia Muslims. 4. Our Role To assist I have prepared a template witness statement. I would ask that: i) The relative of victims are identified and a Witness Statement taken, along the lines of the template. ii) Once taken, get the Statement signed and sent to Sayyid14@hotmail Please note that all statements are secure, nothing will be available in the public domain. The reason why the Identity Number is required as to prove that the statement is that of a Pakistani National. Without it, there is a risk that statement will be dismissed as fabricated. 5. The Way Forward Once I am in receipt of a statement it will be forwarded to the House of Lords Human Rights Committee and will form part of the evidence bundle forwarded to the UN for the purposes of determination. We now have the opportunity to have our voices officially heard, let us avail that opportunity, we may not get it again. He was ….[ADD DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT, WHERE HE WAS GOING / COMING FROM, THE NUMBER OF ATTACKERS, HOW HE WAS KILLED] 3. The matter was reported to the police for the purposes of a criminal investigation. The FIR Number is [ADD DETAILS] 4.
