Click here to help: bit.ly/rescuedhorses NHS Animal Control Officers & officials from Boone County are currently in the process of rescuing several horses from horrific conditions. So far we have removed five horses & our officers and volunteers are at the property again today rescuing even more. These horses are horribly underweight with jutting hip bones and spines poking through their matted coats. They were surviving on very little food and water. Without a call from a good samaritan, they would not have been able to survive many more nights in the winter cold. We are working with our veterinarians and nutritionist to rehabilitate these gentle giants, but we could use more help. Their care will not be quick or inexpensive.
