Use Your Eyes! As you set your vision on creation and success, you must also prepare for potential setbacks. Life will always present distractions so this week, use your eyes to (re)direct your focus. We’ve often said that during our road to a new fit body, it’s important to be realistic. Whether you’re following the path of 90/10 percent, or 80/20— you’ve most likely learned that striving toward perfection can be stifling. This week, become super clear in your vision and set your sets on goals that are attainable. Reward yourself with a (sensible) cheat day once a week, and if you fell of the wagon during your journey to a new body, our advice is don’t sweat it, let it go and start again. No matter what quick-fix programming may tell you about how you can lose belly fat without even working out— exercise is necessary to keep your metabolic fire burning! A sure-fire way we can speak to our bodies to change: Increase the intensity and become really uncomfortable!For example, if you’ve never tried HIIT- High Intensity Interval Training, we suggest creating your own for your client. Grab a couple of sets of dumbbells and carve out 20-30 minutes. All you’ll need is your own body weight and the use of 3-planar movements— remember step forward and back, side to side, add rotations? This is sure to improve awareness. Try to flow from exercise to exercise with ease and grace. Allow 20-30 rest between sets. Can you do it? Resist letting your mind wander; use those eyes to look up, look down, look left and left following YOUR line of travel. Experienced trainers will tell you— that where your eyes go, the body will (in most cases) follow. When training, notice this with your clients during squats, chest presses, pull-ups and even while on cardio machines. Today, pay attention and always ask: Where is the perceived exertion? Are the eyes stressed? Is the face calm? Use your eyes to regulate YOUR reality, and enjoy a stress-free Monday!
