Use rechargeable batteries Batteries are toxic to our environment if they end up in landfill, like all disposable items, disposable batteries are more resource intensive and contain some pretty dangerous materials. Rechargeable batteries are a smarter choice. Most can be reused hundreds if not thousands of times. If you are giving a electronic gift this year that uses batteries, it makes sense, to give rechargeable batteries with it. A simple AA or multi size recharger can be picked up for around $20 along with a pack of 4 pack of AA rechargeable batteries for around $15 (almost the same price of some disposable batteries!)
