Using Walker’s own math, it appears that Legislative Republicans have dug our state back into a fiscal hole while the rest of the nation is building toward full recovery. Using the exact metric that Walker and his administration used over-and-over, Wisconsin is on track to dealing with structural deficit on par with what we had four years ago, at the end of the great recession. It’s time to accept the facts, stop the political wrangling, and stop digging in with the same failed policies of giving away tax breaks to the rich and favors to special interests. Instead, we need to work together to catch up with the rest of the country, grow our local economy, and invest in our neighbors and small businesses.
