VACANT POSITIONS – MAY 2013 FIELD SALES ASSISTANT MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB Implementation of sales and marketing activities in the designated region. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Stockist visits to carry out merchandising of products, collecting and supplying orders, poster placement, check on out of stock/short expiry products, product detailing to counter sales staff, build relationships with counter sales staff and owners of outlets. Identifying, organizing and implementing marketing activities such as ISP, Product Demos, Dip Visits, Field Days and Poultry ISP as per the regional marketing plan in the designated region. Monitoring, collecting, collating and reporting competitor marketing activities in the designated region. Conduct regular and focused dip visits to provide back up service. Regularly generate and submit accurate and timely reports that detail sales, market intelligence and business opportunities available in the market place. In consultation with the TSR generate individual work plans for the designated region. Collecting, maintaining and regularly updating customer contact data. Carry out any other duties assigned by Technical Sales Representative of the designated region. Qualification: Diploma in Animal Health, Animal Production or Animal Science. Diploma in Marketing will be an added advantage. Experience: 1 or 2 years relevant experience in a busy sales & marketing environment. Posses a motorbike riding licence and experience in riding. Key skills and qualities: Good communication and reporting skills, good negotiation skills, self-driven and result oriented. Key responsibilities ·Supervise Field sales assistant’s stockist visits to ensure that merchandising of products, collecting and supplying of orders, poster placement, checking on out of stock/short expiry products, product detailing to counter sales staff, building relationships with counter sales staff and owners of outlets has been done · Management of customer accounts (Distributors, stockists, farms/dips and institutions) by ensuring adherence to trading terms and stocking of complete product portfolio. · Approves the marketing activities and ensures that they have been implemented by FSA as per the regional marketing plan in the designated region. · Analyzing FSA’s reports on competitor marketing activities in the designated region in order to come up with tactical interventions and defensive plans · Identifying, organizing and implementing marketing activities allocated to the TSR such as Dairy Seminars, Poultry Seminars, Exhibitions, CSTs and Dog Shows as per the regional marketing plan in the designated region. · Ensure that FSA has conducted regular and focused dip visits to provide backup service and regularly analyze dip data so as to come up with recommendations · Conduct farm visits to carry out herd health so as to identify key potential business areas to aid in acquisition of sales orders and to maintain and grow business for the organization. · Regularly generate and submit accurate and timely reports that detail sales, market intelligence and business opportunities available in the market place. · Carry out detailed regional sales analysis that give insight to regional sales performance against the regional sales budget to enable implementation of appropriate marketing interventions from time to time. · Maintain and grow existing customer base. · Identify and recruit new customers. · Mentor and develop a high performing team within the designated region. · Market development within the region. · Carry out any other duties assigned by the Territorial Sales Manager. Qualification: Degree in Animal Health, Animal Production, Veterinary Sciences (diploma in Marketing mandatory) or Sales and Marketing degree. Experience: At least 2 years relevant experience in a busy Sales & Marketing environment within an Animal Health or Agricultural organization. Posses a driver’s license and driving experience.
