VENDOR BIO! Susan Dunning is a long-standing vendor of 25 years at the Brattleboro Farmers Market and is the very talented artist and owner of Potteryworks, based in Ludlow, VT. Susan moved from Florida to Vermont in 1972 having first attained a Master of Arts in art education with a ceramics major. She had intended to teach, but her love of making pottery was the driving force that made it her full time career and business. Susans principles in her stoneware pottery is making simple, functional and affordable pieces, that are also distinctive and aesthetically pleasing with thoughtfully chosen color palettes and beautiful glaze. Along with her pottery Susan loves growing many seasonal produce items, such as garlic, onions, lettuce, carrots, tomatoes (Gilberties being a favorite crop) and offering eggs from her own free range chickens. Susan also has several kinds of plants through spring and summer, such as daylilies (her specialty), field grown pansies, and other assorted perennials. Susan is also a vendor at the Brattleboro Winter Farmers Market from Nov to March at the River Garden on Main Street.
