VIA#INBOX STATEMENT ON POWER OUTRAGE IN WAJIR TOWN Asalaam Aleykum All praise and thanks be to Allah S.W.T. peace and blessings be unto Mohamed (P.B.U.H) Allah has blessed us with a holy month whose value no word is enough to tell. For the entire Wajir community, this 1434 Ramadhan, we wish to create awareness concerning a vital issue. For the last one decade Wajir town has been experiencing something that cripples our efforts in trying to explore the benefits of Ramadhan. Each Ramadhan time power shortage, technical problem, rationing and power blackouts are the phenomenal we witness. Azan is not heard, preaching is affected and all the spiritual activities that require power availability is brought to a sudden stop whose reason is unknown equation. During Iftar, Muslims who have been taking fasting for the sake of Allah S.W.T. have all right to quench their thirst with cold drink with this power scenario. This can’t happen, refrigeration is a problem. Why are all these happening and why does it coincide with the time of Ramadhan? Can these be a coincidence? Who is behind this? Where are Muslims who have the ability to bring this trend to an end? We wish not to make assumptions; however, the structure of leadership of KPLC in Wajir should be analyzed. There could be a deliberate move by a certain individuals in whose heart is no Islamic interest. This should be tackled out like the famous Ken Walibora, a Swahili writer who said “kila kiongozi mbaya ana watu wanaomweka mamlakani kwa kutomshtumu. Kimya ni sharti uvunjwe ili mabadiliko yajitokezee. Tuvunje ukimya.” We should at least be told what is happening; I hope this short message will reach all concerned individuals to bring this matter to an end. Power is a necessity during this month, IT MUST BE THERE. Thank you all.
