VIA...Save All Elephants Drinking oil & gasoline-contaminated parking lot rainwater - the only water LIMBA was allowed all day Saturday in Bowmanville, Ontario. Canada needs its own version of the USDA/APHIS, a US federal agency that conducts unannounced inspections of zoos and circuses. The USDA would definitely cite the Bowmanville Zoo for this if Limba was in the States. Why doesnt a supposedly advanced nation like Canada have a government agency overseeing the treatment and care of elephants and other wild animals? First-hand account of this photo from our colleagues on the No Elephants in Canada page: This puddle in a filthy parking lot, is the only water she had access to..we arrived at 11am and stayed until Limba was taken back to the zoo..this was the only water we saw her allowed to have.
