I am a female white and gray pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 1 YEAR 7 MONTHS old. I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 09/29/2014 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. MOST RECENT MEDICAL INFORMATION AND WEIGHT 10/02/2014 Exam Type RE-EXAM - Medical Rating is 4 NC - SEVERE CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 50.4 LBS. Hx facial swelling and edema S: QAR-H, very friendly O: BCS 1/9, MMs pink and moist, CRT < 2 sec EENT: Clean eyes, ears, nose, teeth. Extremely swollen maxillary muzzle and lips, edematous neck and brisket region (ventral cranial chest). Not painful to touch. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, no resp distress. Abd: Tucked up, soft, no pain on palp M/S/I: Amb x 4, swelling and edema as noted. Some diarrhea on tail and anus. U/G: Female A: 1. Facial swelling and secondary edema - R/O bee sting, snake bite, allergic reaction, other 2. Extremely underweight - R/O mistreatment vs. difficulty eating with swollen face 3. Diarrhea - R/O parasites, stress, change of diet, other P: 1. Continue benadryl, metronidazole, baytril 2. Add 3rd feeding sign on cage 3. WEB MEMO No Web Memo 10/02/2014 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION - AVERAGE Exam Type BEHAVIOR Coconut walks calmly on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment - soft body, low wag. Coconut was calm and relaxed during handling. She had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. Coconut did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She was not interested in toys or rawhide. Coconut was relaxed when approaching a friendly dog, but was not playful. Coconut did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessors hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dogs mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food 1.
