VICTORIA VETERANS DAY ACTIVITIES, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2013 If you have a group who would like to be in the parade call 550-7599 or ask from [email protected]. Do this as quickly as possible. 7:00AM-Veterans pick up U.S. flags at courthouse to be taken to thirty-two cemeteries. 7:30AM-Short public ceremony on the Victoria County Courthouse steps before veterans depart for individual cemeteries. The assembled flags will be blessed before departure. 10:00AM-City/County Veterans Day Parade. It starts at the Public Library and proceeds down Main and then ends at the Victoria County Courthouse. The public is asked not to park on Main between Goodwin and North on the day of the parade. 11:00AM-Veterans Day Ceremony in front of the Victoria County Courthouse. Greetings by MC of the ceremony Gary Moses. The Victoria East High School Band led by David Edge will play the National Anthem. Memorial wreaths will be placed at nearby monuments. The Victoria East Titan Band will play a patriotic tune. The guest speaker will be Lazaro O. Camarillo, III, a Vietnam veteran. There will be select songs by the Nazareth Academy Choir directed by Ralph Nance. This will be followed by three volleys from the Catholic War Veterans rifle squad and the playing of Taps by Charles Hauboldt. This is a public ceremony and all veterans, friends, and citizens are urged to attend. A special invitation is extended to the officials of the County and City. Guests are urged to bring their own lawn chairs for seating.
