[ VIDEO IS NOT FOR THE FAINT HEART ] Ready for some education? During the winter time in Greenland, Inuits eat Kiviaq which are basically birds stuffed in a dead seal body with removing all air within and stitched. It is remain preserved for 3-18 months and eaten during the said winter time. This is because during winter, it is hard to hunt, so they need to eat preserved food. Apparently the bird is eaten raw... In terms of Physics, this is very creative, its like a biological pressure cooker, since the seal has layers of fat which provided thermal energy, not to forget the forces acting during compaction also provides with the needed energy to soften the bird. Furthermore, if we see it in terms of microbiology, this is still doable since during the cold weather, microorganisms are more passive, however it is still unsafe to consume anaerobic digested food, apart from methane gas released, it may bred bad bacteria. There are already cases where people died from botulism.
