VIOLATING THE NIGERIAN LAWS DELIBERATELY!!! Im no lawyer, - TopicsExpress

VIOLATING THE NIGERIAN LAWS DELIBERATELY!!! Im no lawyer, however, too many references to the Electoral Act of 2010, resulting from the PDP Fund Raiser made me look it up. Of specific interest is section 91 of the Act, titled Power to Limit Contribution to a Political Party: Limitation on Electoral Expenses. And I saw these three issues. In sum: Section 91 (2) says; Presidential candidates cannot spend more than N1billion. Section 91 (9) says; Presidential candidates can not collect more than N1m from individuals, organizations or Consortia/groups. Section 91 (10) says; Deliberate violation of Sections 91 attracts N1m fine and/or 12 months. Since the President has said that he constantly receive conflicting advice from his Special Advisers, Ill assume this is one of such periods where he is given advise that conflicts with and violates our laws. And to show that he is all for the laws, I think he should sack his Legal and Political Advisers and Campaign Managers. He should also discard the PDP Legal Advisers. They are not good for him, nor for us. How could they, with all that they are paid, not have known that the whole thing is in violation of the law Mr President signed? Importantly, Mr President should take only N1billion of the funds donated, and direct that the remaining N20billion should be used in procuring equipment for the military to be used in our fight against terror in the Northeast. He cannot and must not be seen to be breaking same piece of legislature that he himself signed into law on the 24th of August, 2010. Hassan DM
