VITAMINS FOR THE MIND by Ron Reynolds #3671 (Wednesday, October 29, 2014) A Little Intimidating? If you’ve been around AdvoCare for a while, and have been trying as best you can to build a rewarding business, you’ve certainly discovered that it isn’t ‘you’ that tries AdvoCare, it’s AdvoCare that tries you. As Charlie often said, and as Richard and Sherry often say today, AdvoCare is a people business, and your role as a Distributor brings you in close contact with people every day; and in the beginning, that can be a bit of a tortuous and challenging experience. You know what it’s like – you really are trying to help other people but some of them don’t treat you very well. Getting up in front of people to conduct a Nutritional Mixer the first time can be a little like a root canal, especially when some of the people listening to you are your friends. In addition to all the things there are to learn – the terminology, which product to take, when to take it and for what purpose, the strategies within the Success System – and all the other ‘involvements’ can be like trying to learn a new language. But if your purpose is clear and if your passion is strong, you do it anyway; if it’s hard, do it hard, if it’s easy, do it easy, but the key is to put yourself in front of people and let your passion communicate the value of what you’re offering to people. You also probably have a full-time job (which is often a bigger burden than is the reward), and you may have children to pay attention to; you have bills to pay, you have what seems like endless chores to take care of, and errands to run as well as going to the supermarket to buy groceries and then rushing home so you can prepare the meals for your family. And then, along comes the message of AdvoCare brought to you as an opportunity which, if you choose to do it correctly, can give you a lot more options and take some of the heavier burdens away. You can pay off the bills, you could quit your job once your income from AdvoCare met and exceeded your salary, you could hire someone to do some of the housework, and you could become a stay-at-home and work-from-home parent and person. You could have more meaningful time with your children and with your spouse, something that both Shannon Varvel and Dawn Funk have done – along with a large and growing number of other people who have had the courage to take a leap of faith. Both of the women I’ve just mentioned earn in a single month from AdvoCare what they once earned in a year at their ‘safe and secure job,’ and the very special part is that they’ve helped other people follow a new path that leads them through the forest of ‘being owned’ and who have liberated themselves. But is it easy? No! But if you think the discomfort of doing some uncomfortable things for awhile until they become more comfortable is too much for you to take on, wait until a little later in your life when you come to experience the discomfort of knowing that you have little to look back to with pride and nothing to look forward to with excitement. The views expressed on this post are those of Ron Reynolds and do not necessarily reflect the views of AdvoCare.
