VIVA is a very good tool to communicate with government when it is rightly and timely! At the same time it can be a destruction if not well planned because it has a lot of implications that come with it! Am not saying that people should stop VIVARING but that these VIVAS should be done accordingly with proper planning and reason. Its not logical enough to hold a VIVA when you want to present an issue for the first time! Who told you that the government or rather the Bursaries Committe will refuse your request? Let us first present the topic of BC increment to Bursaries Commitee and wait for their response coupled with reasons to why they have responded that way! Its not intellectual enough for us to go for a VIVA before we here from what they have to say with our request to increase these allowances! Its inevitable for the Bursaries Committe to say no to this call of BC increment and some of the reasons why BC should be increased includes: 1. The relatiVe high inflation rate in the country. 2. The removal of subsidies on mealie meal and fuel prompts for increase in BC if the standard of living was to be achieved in both nutritional and academics. 3. Integration in IT which causes shift from primitive way of living to modern one. 4. In order to fufil the promise of more money in the peoples pockets 4. Hike in both taxes and other tariffs such as electricity and water! Hencem we as student have all these arguments to concince the BC people to increase these allowances but this need to be presented in a peaceful manner unless otherwise WISHING YOU SUCCESS!
