VOD 07/21/13: The Word Will Be Spread. Verse: Acts 8:3-4 But Saul ravaged the church. He entered into every house and dragged both men and women off to prison. Therefore, those who were scattered abroad went about preaching the word of God. Thought: The early church had grown complacent and needed to be reminded of their mission, to go into all the world and preach the gospel. They quickly learned that it did not matter where they were. They could still live the Christian life and know the same joy they had shared together. This joy and freedom in the Lord can be ours wherever we are in the world. All we have to do is learn to recognize and to respond to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, and the resources of God will be available to us. Prayer: Our Heavenly Father, Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit help us to know the peace which comes to those who place their trust and confidence in You. Teach us how to better spread the good news of Your word and to bring others into the fold of Your family. Watch over us and guide us as we travel along the proper path You have chosen for Your children. We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ...Amen.
