VOICE OF LIBERTY DEVOTIONAL BY: Victory Jazrel Joseph DATE: Thursday, November 13, 2014. TOPIC: Crossing Over Process OPENING SCRIPTURE: Matthew 8:18 - When Jesus saw great multitudes surround him, he commanded that they should CROSS OVER to the other side. MAIN TEXT: To elevate to a better place in any area of life, we MUST do a lot of crossovers. The biggest issue in crossing over isnt in commencing the journey neither is it the details of the other side. It is the process involved. We all know that there is light at the end of ALL tunnels. As much as we look forward to the daylight at the end of the tunnel, we must go through the night/tunnel. That is where the problem is. The opening scripture tells us how Jesus had told his disciples to cross over to the other side. The story didnt end there. Matthew 8:24 updates us on what happened in the process. It says And, there arose a GREAT STORM IN THE SEA, so much that the ship was covered with the waves: but Jesus was asleep. In most cases, the process of crossing over presents us great storms to deal with. Some storms are easy to deal with but the storm that catches us in the middle of the sea is the worst form there is. If the storm had started while the disciples were still at the shore, itd be easy to run back to base. If it had attacked them at arrival on the other side, they could easily look for a place to run to. How do you run away from middle of the sea in a great storm? So, the storm had them covered. Most times, we encounter the biggest business difficulties after investing all our savings and the loans taken. No savings to go back to, cant assess more loans BUT there is need for more money! Do you feel stuck in the mist of a relationship, career, business or ministry? Be consoled; Jesus disciples went through such a time. It didnt consume them neither will it consume you. The most discouraging part of it is that the Jesus that commanded them to get into the boat and cross over was asleep at the worst possible moment. What do you do when your only solution is not reachable? Have you ever felt that God was sleeping through your difficult times? He inspired or instructed you to start a project and in the middle of it, you encounter a huge problem for which you dont have solutions and your prayers seem to hit the ceiling and falls right back on you! In Matthew 8:25, Jesus disciples went to him, and woke him to save them. The worst time to get discouraged and stop praying is during difficult times. It may look like the heavens are shut against your prayers but that is when you need to pray more. Dont stop praying till you know the Lord has risen on your behalf. Matthew 8:26 tells us that Jesus arose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. The Lord is arising on your behalf today to cause divine calmness to every area of your life in Jesus name. Psalms 30:5 says .... weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Dont be held back from making a move to start your own business, your dream project, get married, get help from an addiction, walk out of abusive relationships, negative influences of friends or upgrade yourself academically because of the difficulties you can imagine in the process of it. Your joy will surely come after all. Are you battling with the process of rehabilitation, financing your business, going through a degree program or settling down? I speak peace to you and every area of your life now in Jesus name. CONFESSIONS: I arise and shine in the light God. The glory of the LORD is risen upon me. Even if darkness covers the whole earth, and gross darkness cover the people of the world, I refuse to be shaken because the LORD has risen upon me, and his glory shall be seen upon me.
