VOTE NO TO HAZLET PUBLIC QUESTION!!! The current Democratic administration wants to combine our Zoning and Planning Boards to create ONE Land Use Board. Currently these 2 boards deal with different zoning or planning issues within Hazlet. Each board is served by resident volunteers. This referendum is asking to combine these 2 boards into one board to make all of the zoning and planning decisions in Hazlet stating that this will save money and be more efficient. The work has to be done so there wouldnt be any savings either by one board or each separate board. The concern is one board controlled only by one political party making the decisions. This will reduce the number of resident volunteers and the special agenda or prejudice of one or 2 members could influence the entire board and make wrong planning choices. For instance, this year alone, the democrat majority controlled planning board withdrew the court appeal we had fighting the high density townhouses on Poole Avenue and approved 44 townhouses for their special interest and is now seeking to purchase Holy Family School with your OPEN SPACE TAXES. Is this what you thought your tax dollars were being spent on? VOTE NO TO QUESTION 3 AND SAVE WHAT LITTLE SPACE WE HAVE LEFT IN HAZLET AND ALLOW MORE RESIDENTS TO HAVE A SAY IN HAZLETS DIRECTION AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR TOWN.
