Vacancy St Joseph’s House Brewery Road Job Title: Temporary Part-time Care Assistant Reports To: Care Supervisor Application: In writing to Care Manager Closing Date: 22nd October 2014 Open To: All Care Staff with Care Assistant FETAC Level 5 Qualification Duties and Responsibilities • To work as part of the Care Team, the aims of which are to ensure that the resident’s individual personal and social care needs are met on a daily basis. • To promote Person Centred Care. • To carry out all aspects of the direct care provision to meet the assessed needs of individual residents, which may include: • Assisting where needed in personal care • Assisting individual residents where needed • Ensuring resident’s bedrooms are maintained to a high standard. • Helping where necessary in the serving of meals, ensuring that each resident receives the meal or diet that he or she has requested and is suitable for his or her needs. • Assisting with the Admission/Discharge process for both permanent and respite residents including listing of resident’s property and clothing on day of arrival and departure. • To report relevant information regarding residents to Supervisor /Management. • Reporting immediately any accident or incident which may occur, to a resident, member of staff or a visitor. • Maintaining confidentiality at all times in line with CIDP policies. • Fully participate in and meet required standards of training deemed appropriate to the role. • To be fully aware of health and safety standards and ensure compliance with same. • To have knowledge and understanding of the HIQA Standards • To write handwritten daily reports
