Valencia Join Aston Villa and Hull City in Race to Sign Manchester Uniteds Tom Cleverley Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is subject of a bidding war ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline, with Spanish club Valencia the latest club to make an offer for the player. Aston Villa and Hull City made formal bids to Manchester United for the 25-year-old on Thursday, but the La Liga side have now made their interest known in the midfielder. The offers come in the wake of Louis van Gaal making the England international available for transfer in the past week. Sky Sports report that another £8m offer has been received and now Cleverley will be able to negotiate terms with all three clubs ahead of Mondays deadline. Cleverley has only 12 months left on his contract and United are hopeful of selling the player rather than either issuing him a new deal - or losing him on a free transfer next summer. The player has been widely criticised for his performances in red and has been made something of a scapegoat for Uniteds huge drop in form over the last year. United let another English youngster leave the club on Thursday, with Wilfried Zaha joining former club Crystal Palace on a season-long loan. It remains to be seen how many other players will leave United before Mondays deadline, with Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck also linked with exits.
