Vallejo Views - 1st Annual Vallejo Together Zumbathon The first Zumba Royals Zumbathon was held at Little Mexico in partnership with the Zumba Royals, Beres Bridal and DJ Alex. Proceeds benefitted our friends in need. Around 100 Zumba enthusiasts showed up ready to burn calories stored from their Thanksgiving meal. All were happy to support the cause. Maria Sanchez, co-owner of Beres Bridal spent many hours making tamales which was almost sold out along with Mexican corn and fresh fruit bowls. Cristina Galicia, the Queen of Zumbathons suggested the fundraiser to Vallejo Together years ago. She was happy that the event materialized this year with the help of fellow Vallejo Together Organizer and Zumba Royal Vicel Meyer. For months 10 Zumba Royals planned the details of the event. They practiced routines, paired up with each other and solidified dance line ups so to mix it up and make it fun for the attendees. They also bought shirts and promoted inked water bottles for the event. Thank you Lani Parker and the American Canyon High School teens for all their help at the event! You guys were great!! Because of their hard work, the Zumbathon raised close to $1,700 through ticket, raffle and food sales. The money will be used to fund Vallejo Togethers medical mobile unit, and other needs of our veterans, disabled, seniors and kids.
