Value. Self worth. The way we see our own worth makes such a big impact on how we live our lives. In fact, the way you see your own worth affects every day of your life and how you see others. If my value is tied to my job, what happens if I lose that job? If someones value is tied to their attractiveness, what happens when they are rejected? Or when someone more attractive comes along? If your value comes from making others happy, then they begin to rule your life and you are easily manipulated by guilt and their expectations. When we tie our value to changeable things, we set ourselves up for shipwreck. Much like currency, if the value of our currency is tied to something that fluctuates wildly then our currency would be unstable. If its tied to something of fixed value then it become solid. So, what about our value? What can we fix our value to? Is it to our usefulness? No Our obedience to God? No Our works? No All of these can let us down because its focused on our abilities. As our performance varies so will our view of our own worth and well be up and down on ourselves all the time. What should we tie our self worth or value to then? What value does God place on us? For most people, value is the price they would pay for something. What price did God pay for you? He paid the price of blood. The blood of His son. Not just to bail out humanity. That price wasnt just so you could someday go to heaven. But He paid that price so that His Holy Spirit could live in you. Good was looking for a place to live on the earth and He choose you. Your life lived is worth Jesus blood to God.
